Keystone Updates 6 Jul 2024

We've had a lot of ups and downs with artists recently. Some people had to leave, causing me to look for new talent. This is obviously a very big problem because I can't just replace an artist mid-game. The game is literally based on the art style.

This caused me to take a whole new approach to things. Instead of drawing out one illustration per scene, we're going to sketch out all the scenes for all chapters, and then come back in waves to add detail and color along the way. This way if I lose an artist at any point in time, we don't' lose all the work too. I believe any artist can come in and continue to add color or detail to existing art. But you can NOT have a new artist mimic another artist's entire style perfectly.

So there's that.

Also. I have finally figured out what to do with the actual "library" of Keystone Library. It's going to be a bit of a playhouse, but it starts off as an ancient abandoned library which is carved into a mountain under a waterfall. This ancient magical place still has a few guests to interact with, but in order to bring the Library back to life you will have to do some work. And that's where the key goal of the game comes into place.

Save the library!

So here is a very nice value painting done by artist Lim Chuan Shin of the exterior of the establishment.

We're currently working on the interior too.

Other than that, the most important thing going on is the new trailer we are working on. You should be able to see the trailer script currently here:
